Title: MTG 'The Three Seasons' (Wizards of the Coast, 2021)
Media Type: Mixed Media
Art Type: Specialty Piece
Artists: Adam Paquette (all)

This original, hand-carved sculpture is a Saga illustration used for Magic the Gathering Kaldheim Foil card set, collector number #231, an uncommon Enchantment Foil Card. The actual sculpture itself is intricately carved in unfinished solid limewood (3 separate pieces that fit together), and measures 34.5” x 16” x 4” with a combined weight of 37 lbs [shipping to be determined].

Sculpture comes with certificate of authenticity, directly from the artist along notes on the sculpture, mounting instructions as well as with detailed suggestions for the display of this grand centerpiece.

The artist, Adam Paquette, works directly for MTG and he "chose to actually carve his Saga artwork, just as it might have been done by a craftsman on Kaldheim. The result is simply astonishing, Paquette put his literal sweat and blood into the piece, making mention that his neighbors were audience to more than 100 hours of the hammer and chisel tapping it took to shape 'The Three Seasons' over 2 months at his studio then at home when Germany went into Covid-19 lockdown.

This is not the first three-dimensional artwork to be featured on a Magic card, but it is the first time a Saga has actually be rendered in the material it seeks to represent. This artist did not have to go this hard, and yet he did; for the love of his craft, and the love of the game. Bravo!"*
